Trying to preempt this issue. Apparently when it downloads, it downloads into a folder called ~/.config/google-chrome/Default/OptGuideOnDeviceModel/ OptGuideOnDeviceModel directory doesn’t exist yet. I created it, made root the owner, and removed all its write permissions. Ought to do it.

You need to change the client hints as well.
