This looks promising.
They are already much farther than I thought!
I love the visuals and the prospect of one day walking through my beloved Vvardenfell like that is totally exciting!
Incredible community project. Massive scale. Looking forward to this much more than to TES 6. Also doubt that Bethesda is even capable of creating a top-tier game these days.
They absolutely aren’t. Their last mainline game was Starfield, and it shipped without a map function. Two of my favorite bugs include the one where if you try to open the liquor cabinet on the pirate station, the doors open inward, forcing the bottles through the walls and they fly every which way in the CIC. Or the one where a crew of spacers has taken a ship hostage, so you dock and kill the spacers to save the ship, but the spacers leader is aligned to Constellation, so if you complete the randomized side mission, you piss off your crew!
Their other current projects are live-service money grabs (Elder Scrolls Online, and Fallout 76). So no, they aren’t.
ESO is developed by Zenimax Online Studios, not the Bethesda team. Can’t argue your Fallout76 point tho.
I’m so excited to finally get the boy playing Morriwind. He loves Skyrim but I cant convince him that Morrowind is better because the graphics are so scuffed bro you cant even fight
My son also started with Morrowind, as my GOG version has a German localization.
But recently he switched to Oblivion, which is totally fine with me. Levels up his somewhat mediocre English skill ;-)
N’Wah
I just finished my morrowind modlist 2 days ago. And back in my morrowind kick. Timely news
It will still be some time until release, though.
But I am fine with it, most of Tamriel Rebuild is still waiting and I also expect Skyblivion to be there before it :-)Tamriel rebuilt is my favorite thing ever
It would be so cool if this worked with SkyMP when it’s done. I want to rp in Morrowind.
Very exciting, not a lot is left it seems. Scripting all the quests seems to be the largest remaining bit. I wish I had some more free time to help out with animation, but I really can’t afford it.
If I can get this working in VR, I’ll never be seen again
Openmw has base morrowind vr as well so just so you know
You will probably be able to play TES6 and the official remake of Morrowind in VR before this is completed.
OpenMW already has VR support

I know, but the draw calls
Most Skyrim SE mods are compatible with Skyrim VR, so there’s a chance.
I am very hype for this!
They have 14 animators non this project.
I belive the the total number of animators Bethesda employed from 2000-2024Meanwhile someone casually remade Morrowind in Elden Ring already.
That seems to be more like a technical POC, if we are talking about the same guy.
While this is impressive by itself, the gritty time- and resource-consuming process of creating all the content for an actual remake just begins after that…They didn’t really remake it so much as oort the terrain map and textures into Elden Ring
Actually watching the video helps.
Doubt that, but ok
That’s pretty neat. But it’s not the same thing at all.
That’s pretty cool. But Skywind is on a completely different scale.

That’s a human narrator credited in the video details, Joy Hayward
If you listen to the whole thing it’s quite obvious it is a human voice, there’s a few quirks sprinkled here and there. Plus they didn’t use AI for any of the dubbing, I’d find it surprising that they would use it for narrating their progress report.
