The walkie talkie has been programmed with radio frequencies that require a licence for use in Australia. Using the equipment in its current state may cause interference with other licenced services operating on the 467.425 MHz band and cause unintended disruption. Consumers should also be aware that the unlicenced use of this walkie talkie may contravene the Radiocommunications Act 1992.


Reminds me of being a kid in the 80s, the Sears catalog walkie talkies were on the same channel as some trucker CBs. They would get upset at the cross talk.
And my neighbour had a large portable AM / SW radio that looked like any 70-80s style of that era, but It had a listen and talk flip switch on the side for SW. That didn’t seem legal to sell consumer style radio with a broadcast switch.
