This for sure. My Dad is like that.
He’s either full productivity doing something for somebody, or switched off entirely watching the TV.
He sees basically anything else as wasteful, which I find sad, as I’d love to find something we could do together just for the fun of it.

it’s not about gender. every adult is a grown child, some just internalize that they are not allowed to feel childlike joy anymore
