Use a taller bun. I also am on team under-over. While the double barrel approach is innovative, it sacrifices on handling. Harder to properly grasp. An under-over config allows tall bun sides that can support a tactical grip with one or both hands without getting saucy fingers.
Stack them vertically. Use normal bun. Problem solved.
Or stick one dog in either end of the digestive tract. Problem solved.

perhaps you could use a more circular bun, then you could also stack more toppings. maybe you could even make the bun flatter and made of corn.
