My expectation for it is simply that DDG isn’t running any AI to give me an overview/summary, and instead just giving me links to relevant sites. It’s not DDG fault if sites hosting content don’t clearly mark that the content was AI generated. Is there even a standard for sites to convey that to search engine indexers?
Some AI images contain metadata indicating their AI-y-ness. Bare minimum from a search engine would be to filter common tags and block any known AI “galleries”.
