Meta is rolling out paid subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp worldwide, while also testing new AI, creator, and business-focused offerings under its broader “Meta One” subscription brand.
That’s why (if addicted to SM) you only need sign up for free (hardly a task) - and then just share with friends that you have. Check back in a few weeks and see if others have signed up. When enough have, then start using it, until it is good enough to dump the other.
I don’t use SM apart from this and a few dedicated forums, but I don’t get why anyone would be on any of them to begin with, regardless if my friends are on it or not.
The alternative is doing nothing and stay on the creepy data hoarding platforms. Again - for the zombies that need their fix, not for those that don’t use any of them.
Thing is, do people even really need to migrate all of those things? The only reason they’re on there is because “that’s where everybody is”. I’d argue that the best alternative is just… not using them.
Without a shadow of a doubt the best option would be not use them at all.
The reason for migrating would be for those that care about privacy and are addicted to the most well known ones. Many of the alternatives are a more private and ad-free option.
Signing up shouldn’t be that much of a task, and then share that you have with others, in the hope that they will too.
I wonder when they’ll start to charge “influencers” more to use the platform with extra "tools"and “features” to lure people in.
If you’re that addicted to social media…
How to migrate away from all of them:
Step 1. sign up for free to Monett or Pixelfed instead of Instagram.
Step 2. Share with all of your friends and tell them to do the same.
Step 3. No need to start using it until you have a decent amount of people on the other platform to converse with and share dinner photos.
Step 4. Then once migrated, delete all remnants of your Instagram account.
rinse and repeat with:
“No one is on this platform, so no need to post…”
“No one posts in this platform, why should I join?”

Oooooh, then you can not post to a bunch of zombie accounts that no one uses cuz the platform is empty cuz no one uses it.
Anyway, you were so close to actually getting the point that you need to just
Be the change, ya know?

Yes, the alternative to making an account and posting shit to make a new platform more appealing to potential new users is staying and doing nothing 🙄
I’m done with this conversation, since this is not going to be a productive use of time. Good day.
And talk shit somewhere else. A point was made, didn’t need your input, especially without any other point or alternative… Just “Do nothing” mulch.

Dont they already charge influences for extra tools? I think the business accounts pay and get more features.
MOAR! (I didn’t know that they already did charge them. But more is always an option in their vocabulary).
