I took another approach since I could have sworn I’ve seen the image before in pre-AI days; but all I managed to do was get my algorithm super confused by searching Leather World too much.
It just looks like hes holding it with a cupped hand under the bottom and you can only see his thumb. Its just too deepfried to really say anything for certain.

I think it’s a normal hand. It just blends in with his shoulder.
It’s too deepfried to tell, but there are a bunch of messed up areas.
