I got diagnosed at 52, i only discovered that forgetting to eat and being shaky wasn’t normal when i turned up that way to a therapy session and my therapist pointed out that, that wasn’t a normal thing.

Lord knows I had it. I knew I had it. My married partner of 8 years knew I had it.

At 39 I finally got diagnosed with ADHD last week.

I’ll let you know when my prescription comes in this week.

But a lot of validation and vindication emotionally when family all my years said “no you’re not ADHD, no one in our family is X or Y”. Meanwhile my father and 3 uncles are all engineers or architects and are un-diagnosed autistic as fuck (My married partner is autistic and has met them all and every time we leave we get in the car and they say “Holy fuck he’s so fucking autistic”)

You get low blood sugar from not eating. You don’t get the normal hunger cues before that point if you have something happening in your brain
