I found a Grit Gate recoiler just laying on the ground very early in the game. Unfortunately I died before I could use it (no cells). Would it work?

    I don’t see why not. The problem would be that you’d be at the entrance and they wouldn’t let you in until you did Golgotha. And you’d have to fight your way back up to the surface anyways. So it wouldn’t gain you much.
