Aside from the fact that most people will hate a live action version, this feels WAY too late. If they wanted to make a live-action Naruto movie, it should’ve been 20 years ago.
What’s with old franchises like He-Man and The Last Airbender and this suddenly waking up and realizing they have an audience? Where was all this enthusiasm when the shows were at peak popularity?
Enough people who watched these shows as kids/teens have reached positions where they’re able to do this. Also, One Piece is just as old and the live action is pretty good.
It’s Millennial nostalgia bait, just like the Avatar, One Piece and Harry Potter Netflix series. They didn’t need to do this when those shows were at peak popularity, because they were already making a ton of money back then. Now all those kids are adults with their own income that can be tapped into for a second time.
The Naruto franchise is still going on. The Avatar franchise also has had video games and comic books going. There was no way they would have been able to pull off a Naruto series 20 years ago. Not saying it will be a success, but it has a higher chance of being executed today.
Thanks I hate it.
Good god why
I can’t imagine this is going to be anything but cringe, but the LA OP was/is really good, so maybe they’ll keep that in mind.
