this is sad. I’m gen x, immersed in computers simce age 13, and i feel I’m no longer in a world in which i can function.
reality has moved into dystopian cyber fantasy more than even i thouht could really happen.
Right there with you. The world I grew up in from BBS’s to dial up internet to gaming with friends ( that took serious work to run and connect over phone lines) to innovation after innovation that was for pure excitement and exploration and solving problems and making things easier and simpler is gone. All innovation now is solely for revenue and data consumption and exploitation of everyone and everything. I hate this new world of tech and I just want to go live in the forest and disconnect from it all. Also your handle made me think of a game I loved and haven’t thought of in a very long time, Blaster Master. :)

I mean, LinkedIn was never really any good.
whomever is using LinkedIn for a dating app must be seriously desperate
A lot of people looking for well-off partners would find LinkedIn useful I think
why would you think linkedin people are well off?
You can check where they currently work and gauge how well-off they are
seems extremely superficial, and also people tend to exaggerate on thier pages.
I am not convinced this is better than other options. On LinkedIn people inflate their credentials heavily, no one will want to appear “poor” or in a bad job on there.
When we going to start seeing bulleted lists for dating history?
Project Adrianna, 2005-2007
- Attentive lover for over 2 years, credited with over 50 mutual orgasms
- Bought award winning gifts that resulted in friends being jealous
- Successfully lost virginity
also includes job description. probably basing off how much x experience you have in your job. so they are likely dating based income soley.
Be the change you want to see.
People already use LinkedIn like Facebook so why not throw in a little Tinder in there.
C’mon Microsoft, it’s not like LinkedIn is really that useful for finding jobs anymore.
They also have puzzles now for some reason…
LinkedIn is turning into a hot mess of Microslop.
Good. Here’s hoping they end up running it into the ground. I hate that site, and I hate everyone who asks for a linkedin account to apply for jobs.
i people often to exaggerate some parts of thier profile to make it more appealing to people.
They email me a new puzzle every single day. Like, fuck off with that shit, you are a job board and nothing more, start fucking acting like one.
But line must go up? See, you get people hooked on the puzzles, then you charge for them! It’s sure fire.
