I’ve seen it pop up more in local feeds recently, and the entire community is just one guy posting links to news sites being vaguely critical of the current Liberal admin in ways that aren’t actually critical. To anyone who has had the misfortune of exposure to national and provincial subreddits, this is a hallmark of conservative disinformation campaigns that utilize factual, authority driven news media outlets to platform criticisms which carefully condemn the current admin without introducing systemic criticism that could threaten Con or fascist talking points. They would often post links to say, the CBC or National Post that discusses budgetary or policy scandals, and then when that eventually seems legit enough, they’d just spam headlines about immigrant crime rates or trans pedophiles (I’m lookin at you, r/Ontario). So, the criticism may be that, “the Liberals aren’t doing what they said they’d do,” but that is also a vehicle to suggest that their appropriation of anti-racism or gender equality rhetoric (which they would suggest is genuine anti-racism and gender equality) is also a sign of this failure.
Since these are also posts by one guy, I commented on a post I saw today (linked) to see what would happen, and they predictably responded with some boiler plate occluding Con talking points about how we don’t know why people behave the way they do but we do know that this Carney guy isn’t doing well (which he isn’t). Quick look at their comment history also showed that they comment frequently in ways that supports anti-immigration and pro-capitalism along the lines of “left wing” extremism being a danger.
So, I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this or has more info on this community, and just wanted to warn others before they engage with it and this thing ends up growing.

Which is why I’m fairly confident that the messaging and purposeful occlusion is intentional.
