Senator Lindsey Graham dedicated his life to serving the people of South Carolina and the United States.

Throughout his career, he stood resolutely in defence of democracy and freedom, most recently and particularly with Ukraine and its people.

I offer my condolences to Senator Graham’s family, friends, and all those who served alongside him.

It’s real. Apparently Joly and Anand also chimed in.

Lindsey Graham has called for the invasion of Canada. You know what else is good politics? Knowing when to shut the fuck up.

You know what’s quite frankly more important right now then pissing and moaning about Graham’s sycophantic public statements to please Trump?

Convincing Trump to keep supporting Ukraine.

Indignant outrage is a cheap high, not smart politics.

You know what absolutely did not convince Trump to keep supporting Ukraine? This stupid ass fucking tweet.

Also, guess what. Carney doesn’t need Lindsey Graham’s vote or Donald Trump’s vote to keep his position. He needs our votes, so maybe praising someone who wanted the USA to invade Canada is actually really stupid politics.

You literally don’t know that. Lots of people have accused Mark Rutte of pandering to Trump, but from all reporting it’s worked because Trump is actually that vane. Reminding him that one of his closest supporters vehemently supported Ukraine has a chance of moving the needle.

Also, guess what. Carney doesn’t need Lindsey Graham’s vote or Donald Trump’s vote to keep his position. He needs our votes, so maybe praising someone who wanted the USA to invade Canada is actually really stupid politics.

Lmfao “why isn’t carney pandering to us, we’re the reactionarily outraged!”

I think you’re confusing him for PP, Carney is the one who behaves like an adult.

Pandering to us? What, you mean Canadians? Who would presumably like not being invaded by the USA? Should Carney not pander to his constituents over dead US senators?

Let us also recall that what you are calling pandering here, is just not saying anything.

Not every statement is designed to appeal to you personally.

If years from now you don’t vote for Carney because of this tweet, everyone will look at you extremely confused.

This is just ragebait from OP, nothing more.

Well Carney could at least design a statement that appeals to Canada instead of Donald Trump. That would sure be nice. He was elected to represent us, after all.

Lmfao, so now he’s not allowed to do or say anything to influence international relations unless it has your personal stamp of approval?

That’s right, I expect all his tweets to be put across my desk for approval. A totally serious, good faith suggestion from you. All criticisms of Carney here are obviously demands that Carney personally ask the critic for permission before doing anything rather than discussion on a discussion board.
