I thought fallout 4 was pretty mid, which killed any hype I might’ve had for 5. Did not like having a backstory forced on my character.

So you didn’t liked Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas either? Both games had characters with predefined backstories too.

Fallout 3 was pretty good. New Vegas was solid.

And let’s not be disingenuous, the backstories for both were not taken anywhere close to the level of 4. I’m not playing this game where people try to argue with my opinion of something.

Gamer expectations are crazy high. Fall out 4 was objectively a decent game, and you could do nearly anything you wanted in the game and it had branching narratives. Some people will just never be happy.

I said it was mid not that it was bad, and I didn’t assert my statement as if it was an objective fact. It’s just my opinion.

I had some fun with the usual fallout gameplay but the dialogue and story were the typical Bethesda oversanitized stuff, which I find very boring now. The settlement mechanic was annoying. The backstory killed a lot of the immersion for me especially because it was predictable and kind of cheesy.

There’s no need to get defensive, not everyone is going to like games that you like.

I’m not defensive. I just think gamers have unrealistic expectations these days. Everything needs to be brand new with novel mechanics, hyper realistic, the most interesting story ever or people aren’t happy. It’s boring.

No it was not objectively a good game. There was loads you could dislike about it.

I didn’t like the system they had for in game conversation where the options told you nothing about the maincharacter’s answer. You don’t really know what question the char would ask when an option was labeled [question].
