To take hold fascism requires hypocrisy so shocking anyone that remains in denial about it becomes a prisoner of their own emotions once some time with their eyes cast elsewhere has passed and a void has already in the meantime been ripped in their reality.
Then all fascism requires to sustain itself are twisted and in grown forms of unaddressed subterranean guilt, a virtually limitless resource.
