“Disaster” is obviously just hyperbole for clicks. He raises some valid nitpicks, but they’re just nitpicks. It’s a reasonably good system. I wouldn’t mind having some of the quality-of-life features he suggests though.
Also they need to implement proper Xbox One/Xbox Series controller support.
ATM it just falls back to a 360 controller, which doesn’t have support for the impulse triggers Xbox One/Series controllers have.
Sounds like my dad trying to use an app on the phone that recently had a minor UI layout change.
It was pretty shit when I got my Steam controller. I won‘t sugar coat it. Inputs wouldn‘t even register for me when I tried to map it, there‘s no manual or support to help you with anything and the UI is damn confusing. Steam Imput being mandatory while not working properly meant I didn‘t really use the Steam controller for weeks. A recent update improved it a lot on my Linux machine, however and I can enjoy the controller now.
Still can‘t move actual gyro inputs into other software though. That still sucks. Hope they ditch Xinput soon or they make the drivers open source so someone else can build something better.
Steam input could be great. It‘s a great idea. It just isn‘t great right now.
99.9% of players use it without issue. But sure, if you can’t make it work is the software fault.
Can’t watch right now but I’m interested to see the rationale. Steam input is probably one of the best features of steam and I couldn’t live without it once my eyes had been opened.
Dude spends waaaay too much trying to explain what he was going to do zzzZzz
