It’s me again, back with my Yaesu FT-2900R rig. I’ve worked thru most of the issues with it, but some remain.

One of the most annoying ones would be the intermittent loud static noise (as if I’d turn the radio on, turn up the volume, and disable the squelch) that randomly appears when I leave my radio off while connected to the running power supply.

What I notice when it happen is that the current draw would be around .30 amp, twice the normal .15 amp that it draws when it’s off.

Of course, a working solution would be to disconnect the radio from the power supply, or to turn the power supply off completely, which I do, but that’s not why I’m posting this.

The thing is, I’d like to make sure that there’s nothing wrong with my radio. I’d like to think it’s the power supply’s fault (or maybe the power line’s), but I can’t be sure.

Has anyone encountered something similar?
