It was fun for what it was, an overly serious and overly detailed “grimdark” setting based on an old TV show meant to sell toys, with a generous heaping of campiness on top. It’s entertaining garbage, and it mostly “knows its place” as such, besides one single attempt at a serious scene when the king of eternia dies.

It has a scene set to “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, explicitly referencing the “magical secret powers” meme video of old. It has a short sequence with gym bro Skeletor and HR lady Skeletor. It’s a fun campy action comedy with surprisingly high budget and good effects.
