This crusade against bad datacenters - poor cooling, poorly located, wasteful - is mislabeled as a crusade against ALL datacenters.

Mislabeled? Yeah. I’ve worked with personal info - the kind you don’t want leaked (PII) - for years. You need that shit secure. You only do that with a very secure building designed to hold and protect all that storage for all those databases - healthcare info, courts docs, land title surveys, buried pipe maps, your bank account, 3tb of Epstein files - so it’s stored, secured and accessible only where required.

That’s a datacenter. We need that one. But, like some others, this crusade will target those too. It’s a classic baby-with-bathwater issue.

And maybe that’s what they want: they’re okay with crunchies killing 80 years of climate records and the Epstein files because both hurt the same dirtbags.

Maybe we keep those datacenters around? Maybe we notice the difference between that one and whatever the hell musk has done? Maybe we protest the musk one as a Toxic Datacenter or part of Datacenter Blight instead of saying they’re all evil?

Nuance is so hard these days, but just think a sec.
