He let money and fame go to his head and lost touch with what was important; his ego is more important than doing the right thing to him. Constant inaccuracies in their videos. Original employees started jumping ship because they weren’t making enough. A bunch of scandals including messing up a review and tanking a startup before auctioning off the prototype the company lent them, employee harassment/verbal abuse, etc.

Let’s not forget the Honey scandal when he sold his own audience for money.

Or where he sold other companies property for money. Then lied about making things right with the company. Then made an asshole apology video, then made a “genuine” apology video.

While every known face besides him seems to be fleeing the company.

Good summary. I also remember it didn’t sit quite right with me that they were having company employees work on their private home renovation (and a second one, and maybe a third one, if I’m not mistaken?). “Here’s a long format YouTube video of people hoping to make it big in the media/tech industry doing up their millionaire bosses’ house” … Really?

Been a while since I watched LTT. But, found out some original people left. Watched Jake’s video going over his time there as one of the LMG lifers on why he quit. An interesting thing he said was “You kind of start thinking while you’re working on your boss’s third house, if you’re ever going to be able to buy a house.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqVxgcKQO2E

I lost interest in LTT years back after he started coming off as more of a tech bro throwing around his wealth and his opinion on unions.

But, pretty surprising LMG Lifers like him who were there before LTT became a corporate success didn’t get things like shares, but instead were paid like regular employees. Thought the wealth would have been shared among the staff who helped get the small start up into something big.

Guess it was one of those usual we are family type businesses where early staff put in long hours at odds hours with various responsibilities to help the business get its footing, but people never really progressing beyond simple employees so didn’t benefit from business growth like those who hold shares would.

The two guys who left had bigger ego issues, the woman who ended up leaving had more of a case but even then, LTT is a business, shit happens especially in the tech industry.

A lot of unnecessary shit happened which could easily have been avoided.

“Shit happens” is not a good defence for anything.
