New findings from Counterpoint Research show that global PC shipments are finally seeing some seriously negative effects caused by the AI-driven RAM shortage. Only one Windows PC brand saw any growth, while everything else fell.
Not first ever quarter. Title here says it was 9 consecutive quarters of growth, but I understood it was 5 from the article (All of 2025 + Q1 2026)
It also seems to count laptops and desktops, not desktop hardware bought as individual components. Manufacturers may have had stockpiles for a while, Apple certainly managed to keep their old pricing through much of 2025 at least, if not part of 2026.
I suspect if you looked at individual PC components, the growth dropped off sooner, but I cba to look up the numbers
