Doesn’t seem like that to me. In an ideal world we would be able to give (ex-)nazis a chance at redemption. Probably not actual forgiveness, probably a lot of them would not take it - a tragedy. We do have to accept that this is not an ideal world and it might just happen that it would come to actual violence and death. I think it’s fair to look at people who laugh at the concept of killing a person, that deny humanity to others and be worried. Now, is it wrong to deny humanity to nazis? I personally don’t know, it certainly doesn’t automatically equate you to them, but in an ideal world it would be wrong. Its also much easier when it’s a concept of a nazi and an actual person, that one friend that got pulled into a really bad crowd and so on. This kind of memes are a very simplified narrative, and that just sometimes does not satisfy some folk

I completely agree with you on giving ex nazis chance to redeem themselves, as long as it’s far away from any position of power or authority

The issue is in getting a nazi to become ex-nazi, you can’t do it peacefully or fairly, you might not even do it altogether because the odds, the systems, the motives are all stacked against you

You’re not wrong you’re just setting the bar very high for resistance while looking away at how low fascists moved theirs, with everyone fully knowing they’ll happily kick over the whole scaffold holding it up like they did time and time again, the bar is just symbolic to them and the goal is to win and execute all other competitors at the end

It’s not about who’s moral or right, i mean sure you can make it about it you’re just not going to get anywhere while you’re growing weaker and the cage is getting smaller with time, it’s about making a change, and you’ll never achieved it unless you come to terms with how weak the resistance to fascism(and frankly everyone else not fascist) is and why it is, if anyone is going to burn a billionaire at the stake invite me please

I was defending OP more than voicing my own opinion, as I already said, I am not sure what exactly would be right, I just vibe with their perspective (at least more than some other people here) because I do see leftists voice their opinions in infuriatingly careless ways, which results in alienating some people and thus conversations like in this thread here. I don’t think this meme is particularly atrocious, but it might just have been the proverbial straw that broke camel’s back, I certainly know how that feels
