No in want reliability without massive amounts of maintenance and repairs above all. A 20+ year (pretty much how far back you need to go to avoid telemetry) old car is not going to give that, regardless of what anyone says. They will require lots of time at the mechanic way too often, or lots of hours from yourself.
That depends on where you live. I’m lucky I dont need a car. I cycle to work and live near bus/tram/underground train if needed. So it’s not a necessity. More of an annoyance and expense.

Well in that case, having a reliable vehicle is not about convenience either, that is also a necessity then.
