I’ve been revisiting anno 2205, infamously the ugly duckling of the Anno series of RTS games. I don’t mind so much the fact that it’s different, lacks customisation and random map generation - I’m bothered because the game is so slow to progress through on challenge settings, and it feels like a game designed just to artificially waste your time; in other anno games, you can always pull tricks to dig yourself out of economic crisis - selling off assets and surplus goods, completing quests for other parties, or taking loans. 2205 is very very confined in terms of what you can do to financially recover in the early game and forces you into a lot of military events.

EvE Online It was LIFE, and I love the game…nothing like it and it is NOT for everyone. When I finally freed myself from it…I’d never go back and never suggest others do. It is life consuming.
I couldn’t get into it. I’ve always loved space games, and thought an MMO in space sounded fun.
Little did I know that you couldn’t actually pilot your ship or aim your weapons. What’s the point in playing?
I think the player-driven economy is an interesting concept, and at times the space battles are fun to watch. But, people aren’t kidding when they call it spreadsheets in space. The game part of the game seems to be missing.
I’ve been winning at EVE online for about 10 years. I have no clue how much money I spent on the game and I only had two accounts. One of my buddies that I played with mentioned just this week wanting to check it out again and I do not think I’ll be joining them.
I tried EvE just pre-launch. There was a beta. I had a baller P3 laptop with an early mobile, accelerated GPU. About 15 minutes in… it froze up solid, couldn’t get into windows, graphical issues all over the place, the bios had vertical stripes in it. my GPU was cooked.
It was a Dell with their early aww shit we got you dog warranties. I ended up with a brand new P4 replacement, did NOT want to chance that game again :)
