      Yeah, something is fucky with these numbers. Is there a corresponding drop in Windows/Mac numbers? Or is this due to a large number of new machines appearing out of nowhere?

        It’s proportional, so by definition there’s a corresponding drop. But there’s no explanation for why it’s happened.

        So instead of it being crazy in itself that Linux use should triple within a few months, you suggest that a tiny fragment of the Linux ecosphere alone is responsible?
        I think the more likely explanation here is that the collection of data or use of the data behind the stat is flawed.
