I don’t know who is the mod of that community, but I suspect it’s the OP of the post.

My comment was a list of problems I’ve had lately on Windoz, pointing how in my recent experience I lost more time there than on Linux for an equivalent use.

I don’t remember my exact words and now they are erased, but it went along the lines of:

I have to use Windoz for work, and lately I lost more time on it than on Linux:

I’ve had several problems with teams (audio input/output switching unintentionaly, main audio output not controlled by keys/shortcuts, freezing, not answering calls)
Copilot freezing the complete OS so that a reboot was necessary.
Unable to scroll in a Copilot thread.
Locked by Bitlocker after update.
Task scheduler losing a task after sleep.

So pretty much a list of actual issues I met, not exactly what I would call being an evangelist saying Linux is superior blablabla. I’ve no idea (OK, maybe I have). I simply stated facts.

Is it possible to see who the mod was? Is it a temporary ban?

It’s a shame because I precisely created this account on lemmy.zip to see all instances and communities. /shrug Funny.

Edit: sorry I forgot the post: here
And some formatting edit.

Well, there’s no acronym for this. We have CLM (clueless mod) for when a mod just doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing.

We need a CLU for when a user steps into a trap lol. Some accounts on the fediverse are known for some variety of fuckery or another, and it isn’t really power tripping when one of those mods engages in their known form of fuckery. It’s like buying a used Ford Pinto; yeah, you should be able to buy a car and expect it to behave like a car should. But most people know you just don’t buy one unless you’re looking for trouble; so only noobs and the terminally unconcerned will buy one.

Linux sucks is a known troll community, run by a known troll. But there’s no sticker on the window to tell people that. So if you aren’t a lemmizen that’s been around for a while, it’s easy to get suckered in.

That being said, there is also a tiny bit of YDI here as well. If the community wasn’t a troll, you did go into a community named “Linux sucks” and try to post about something other than Linux sucking. It would be like coming here to praise some user that made a great post; nothing wrong with the content, but it just ain’t the place.

I’d say the mod takes it too seriously for it to be a troll community. It certainly is a trap, whatever that means.
I’m not exactly clueless. My .zip account is new but I’ve been browsing for a while.
Background is, I had already seen some memes from that community, didn’t think much of it except “that’s unusual for lemmy but whatever”.
But more notable, I had read OP’s opinion earlier that “real gamers play on Windows” on a post from another com. Whatever “real gamers” means.
So I decided to answer that post that poped up on my all feed and that’s all. I had no idea the com was so strict, and OP was the mod, and that saying windows has been shittier than linux for me lately is being a “Linux Evangelist”. But cool, I guess I found myself a new label.

Sure, known by a vast majority of fediverse users, but OP’s account is 5 days old. I’d guess it was news to him.

Yeah, this is pretty funny. The Fediverse is a broad enough church for there to be troll communities, like if there was a groucho sub that banned literally everybody.
