iirc, netzens call this a “public-sona” or what you show to people in public, because locals cannot tolerate your true self.

Absolutely incomprehensible post
bruv, is this how you respond to gramsgrams? just say how I can 1337sp34k this 4 u m8.
wat reading grade r u @ homeslice?
imagine a blind user comes across your post and they hear this from a TTS reading:
thad C fans just find nyuh gooseworx’s [pause] rur
they would think that their TTS is broken initially, and i bet they wouldnt be able to understand a thing even if they had a chart they could listen to so they could theortically translate. its not only weirdly elitest but pretty ableist to act like this is not only normal, but something to take personal offense to.
language is for commnicating ideas, and it needs to have a largely agreed on rough standard in order to be useable for communication. otherwise, the words may mean different things to differrnt people, and ideas will be lost in the process of communcation.
I don’t have to imagine, I am legally blind. You’re the second digressive victimizer 🧵 not providing synthesized speech for every single 196 post & comment. I am providing contracted English IPA compliant text. If your TTS doesn’t support these characters& their sounds, it’s a choice issue, not a technical one.
You don’t have to patronize me in language, I know 7. Your TTS may know less.
linux has 2 popular (useable) screenreaders that arent tied to the desktop enviroment, which i choose not to use for the sake of conserving power. both of these screenreaders are old and overall unmaintained. they didnt work on the most recent debian (bookwork) version a few years after that version had released, and i wouldnt be supprised if the same is true for the most recent version right now.
while i could use gnome or kde, they have issues on my hardware that make it difficult to use (kde freezing, and for gnome my storage is very limited to under 256GB)
its not like i havent chosen the good TTS, its that there isnt any good TTS afaik, that works on x11 and has good language support and is up to date and works without consuming all of my limited resources.
I can finally read your 本音, and sympathize with your struggles.
My polycule & I want to emigrate to either Iceland or Luxembourg to rehost accessibility services in a cooperative internet service provision.
Yeah, espeak is unmantained. And I need mutual aid to enby voicebank a TTS model I can yield free to use. Wife knows ASL, and she’s learning the rest to make MotionGens for your favorite characters in text to sign + synths.
awesome :3 i still have the ability to read and write with no help but the future might not be that way. also, i have great sympathy for those worse off than i am, and do my best to make what i create available to as many as i can
