I’d one day like some kind of detachable hidden camera, if only for the reason that recorded video seems to be the only way to get justice in the face of police or sexual assault crimes.
I’d also like a not-so hidden camera that could record a bunch of stuff hands free in case I want to archive something or if I need proof of something for insurance.
I’m very disappointed but not surprised that all the frontier technologies right now are being used by perverts. I hate the pervert economy.
Thing is, if you get a hidden camera to protect from predators, the predators get hidden cameras to prey. There’s no way past it, technology can always be used in both ways. I don’t have a solution.
I like to naïvely believe in the good of humanity and than everyone is good at core. Of course, improved social structures, rehabilitation, education, and so on would help.
The other part is that hidden cameras are, of course, a thing already, so why not use them, too? I suppose I would like to see regulations which mandate a blinking red light on all commercially sold cameras and flash sound for pictures. I have been photographed without consent in the past. Still, people would cover those diodes up and find ways to disable sound cues.
Time to design some clothes with extremely bright IR lights that blind all cameras pointed at you?
