      As a non-native speaker, it has always been weird to me, but this is still considered a normal, grammatically correct conversation:

      • Who is buying glasses?
      • Me.

      You still wouldn’t say “me am going to buy glasses”.

      While “I and a friend” seems to make more sense to me, considering all the weird stuff present in English, I’m fine letting this slip.
