          Because 4 GB was not much VRAM 10 years ago. It is absurdly little today.

              They designed it and chose the specs, MSRP, and most importantly decided to use the same name rather than something like RX 9040/9030.

              Though even for the 8GB, compare this to criticism around nVidia’s RTX 5050 for its pricing (slightly better performance and lower MSRP than RX 9050 8 GB). nVidia had controversies with same-name cut-down parts as well.

              My guy. Just watch the video if you care that much. AMD is releasing a 4GB video card in 2026. It predictably sucks ass.
