(Not sure if OP can read this, but let’s go…)

Didn’t GNOME receive some funding a few years ago and pretended they don’t want to implement stuff so that they don’t have to pay contributors and instead pocket the money? Wasn’t that what Sonny Piers revealed this year?

(I acknowledge that I see your comment. I only block Lemmy.world, on top of whatever Piefed.social is blocking.)

From what I can tell by checking now, there’s been some conspiracy theories around removal of Sonny Piers from Gnome Foundation Board of Directors but the current state of this drama is that Sonny Piers has taken down his blog.

(oh, good. I’m still confused by the state of affairs) A few YouTubers, not just Lunduke but also Brodie!!, have shown screenshots of a now deleted thread from the GNOME Discourse forum… where Piers wrote that he was removed and compelled to remain silent… he uncovered evidence of embezzlement or how you would call it… there was little money left precisely because it was stolen… and GNOME users were left in the dark…

I’m not really interested in YouTuber drama, Gnome has always been a butt of the joke because it’s been built on accessibility principles but now it’s also associated with being anti-LLM so that probably brings in new haters too.

What needs fixing about Alt-Tab? I can remember not liking it but forgot why.

I don’t know for sure what that person is referring to, but I believe the default in GNOME is for alt-tab to switch applications, which is a bit unintuitive. There is a simple built-in option to change it to switch by window instead, which is probably usually what one would expect. To me, that’s not something that needs “fixing”, it’s just a default to change, which is perfectly fine.
