only open weight. this is government money. it should have everything open so it can be determined they are all up and up. They should not need to hide they are using ip they are not sopposed to or such. I don’t get why this is being shyed away from. I think an ai should be trained on exclusively public domain or creative commons or such.
I agree that “open source” is often incorrectly used to refer to open-weight models, things that are more analogous to closed-source software where you get the binaries.

I was more saying if gov money is used it should be open source.
