I don’t like to dwell on a movie’s description or details before watching it so I’m looking for movies to go into blind.

Exactly! I stopped watching movie and tv trailers over 10 years ago, and it has GREATLY improved my viewing experience!
Great way to waste time and money. 9/10 releases recently are hot garbage.
That 9/10 is not a recent thing at all. Movies have always been.
It is entertainment, it is all about wasting time and money.
If you can manage it, the Matrix was absolutely amazing the first time. We had no idea what we were going to see except someone from work said it looked good. After it was done we were leaving the theater and saw that the next showing didn’t have a line, so we went again.

Since I’ve stopped watching trailers / reading synopses etc. my enjoyment of most any movie has shot up exponentiallyIve never watched trailers. They ruin the movies. Especially now.
Agreed. If I don’t want to watch a movie I’ll just watch the trailer to get a summary of the entire dang plot
Yeah. Theyve gotten worse. Go watch a trailer for Jurassic park, now thats a good one, its like what’s happening and then IRS over, lije 15 seconds. How a trailer should be. Not every damn clip of the movie for 3 minutes.
Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. I went in thinking it was a martial arts flick and was pleasantly surprised while not being incorrect.

I swear I’ve heard of the Day of the Jackal 10 times by now! I don’t mean in a bad way :) Either the book or movie, I see it being suggested often in the topics I’m interested in. Might be a sign to finally watch it!
There was a new series sometime in the recent past so maybe that got some attention to the older ones.
Project Hail Mary
The book is much better, the audiobook is even better than the book. Gosling was the wrong actor for this role.
That’s what my neighbor told me after I took his advice and watched it. Haven’t had the capacity to read/listen yet.
But going into it almost completely blind, it was a great movie.
It’s an old one but The Usual Suspects.

From Dusk Till Dawn really does not have the same impact if you know anything at all about the movie. Which is sort of a challenge for a 30-year-old franchise with three movies and a tv series

When I was in college, I got to show this movie to someone who had never heard of it. I’m so glad I got to see their reaction when they figured out what the movie is about.
It truly is a rare treat. I caught it for the first time on late night tv
It’s one of those movies that I wish I could completely forget about so I could experience it as a first time again

Update: Ok I’m 37 minutes in and I’m having difficulty watching it. For reference I’ve turned off A Clockwork Orange twice despite being a huge Kubrick fan.
I’M NOT SOFT! I just find that very specific kind of violence difficult to watch.

Funnily enough, the twist in The Village didn’t work on me - for some reason, the situation as it was is exactly what my mind had assumed was the case, so when it was revealed it didn’t actually register as “the twist” and for the entirety of the movie, I kept expecting something else to be the twist. It wasn’t until after the movie was over, and it was discussed with family, that I realized that the “discovery” wasn’t what everyone else had automatically assumed to be the case by default, and so everyone else in attendance had been shocked by the information.
Smart money’s on many of those people also being the sort to ask ridiculous like: “Who’s that?”, “Why are they doing <insert recently described motive> right now/like that?”, “What’s going on?”, etc. during the fucking movie
