If you support the right of minorities to exist, you’re a liberal. If you support nationalised healthcare and subsidised education, you’re a liberal.

Liberal in contemporary US political conversation doesn’t mean what you think it means. If you support the right of minorities to exist, you’re a liberal. If you support nationalised healthcare and subsidised education, you’re a liberal.
