Finally somebody says it. I was pitched Lemmy as a version of reddit that won’t enshittify because it isn’t run by Spez. There was no mention of communism whatsoever. I came expecting reddit as it had existed a few years prior to the API debacle. Now everyday I have to read a genocide denier accuse someone of supporting genocide because they voted against a fascist who supports genocide. Make it make sense.
And like, the communist thing isn’t a problem in itself, but there is some kind of brain rot going on in this particular online space. You know last week I stumbled into a thread full of people claiming that North Korea is some kind of utopia and all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary is propaganda? That’s not regular leftist discourse, that’s some kind of looney tunes shit.
