    people played skyrim for years on 360 and Playstation long before mods came along.i really have to question if you were even around when that game released

      Son, I’ve been playing games since before the intellivision and the 2600.

      and your defensiveness does not change the fact that, if bethesdas games were not heavily and freely moddable, that they would not be where they are today. Their company gained major fame and their games massive longevity and significantly increased sales from the achievements of the free labor of modders.

        sure mods played a part, but not as significant a chunk you suggest otherwise they wouldnt have been popular to console players at all

          the massive modding environment has been massive contribution to the games fame, the companies fame, and word of mouth, which would have definitely driven console sales.

            but there arent mods on console so there wouldnt be a point in getting bethesda games without mods, right? so nobody would play it on console? because without mods the games are just nothing or what?
