An Israel-based organisation has praised Saudi Arabia for removing the phrase “the Muslims will never give up Jerusalem” from its school textbooks, as it seeks to reshape how the kingdom teaches Islam, Palestine and Israel.

Israeli research group Impact-se published its review of the Saudi curriculum at the end of July.

“The statement implied that Muslim control The criticism comes as Israeli politicians regularly call for the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third-holiest site, and the construction of a Jewish temple in its place.

As an Atheist, I can’t help but wonder why they can’t just share Jerusalem.

Tom Clancy had the right idea. A district for each one, and Swiss or Swedish — the neutral one, I always forget — soldiers tasked with keeping the peace. (Not sure if it was stated, but I’d want these guys to be Atheists.)

Or, you know, put Atheists in charge and let them pragmatically dole out temple times.

…Just not an anti-theist, and the difference is important. As a true Atheist, I don’t hate religions or religious people. I understand what they’re for and why they need to have faith. But as one who is religiously neutral, to me, the Christian, the Jew, and the Muslim are all equal on the basis of religion.

Frankly, the entire “holy land” should be neutral like Switzerland. But how does that fit into power and politics?

Also for context on Al Aqsa specifically - Israel calls for it’s destruction because they claim (falsely according to ever geological survey including their own) that the holy temple (which is also likely a myth) is under Al Aqsa.

But why share facts from actual surveys when they can ramp up their fanaticism to destroy a holy site for a religion that they want to get rid of from “their” land?

Because Christianity, Islam and Judaism are religions of butthurt. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the butthurt. How would they remain in power over world events if they didn’t have each other to harm en masse?
