Beer and home grown fruits and veggies sustain me!

For veggies, though, we have mostly eliminated raw store-bought produce from the menu, at least for now. Cooking mitigates much of the pathogen risk, so I incorporate a lot more cooked veggies into the things I’m making. Fruits you have to peel are usually safe enough, as well, but clean them very well first.

Clean preparation and fully cooking food is, in general, a good safeguard against a lot of the current issues with the food supply. It’s not 100%, and obviously there have been a lot of other non-pathogen issues (ex: heavy metals, broken glass) that cooking isn’t going to help with at all.
