When I was a kid we had to stop eating at Friendly’s cause our server was gay, I mean it’s not like he told us this but my mom had an inkling. I want a cone head :(
In my family, “dribble” was an oft-used cutesy synonym for “drool”. It reminds me of babies with food and saliva oozing down their chin. That wasn’t explicitly my resistance to saying “Fribble” though; it just felt awkard and childish. We didn’t have “cringey” as an adjective then - but in retrospect, cringey is how it felt.
When I was a kid I was low-key obsessed with Friendly’s, but I refused to say “Fribble”
For those of us not familiar with the region you’re from: what’s Friendly’s and what’s a “Fribble”?
It’s a thick milkshake, Friendly’s is a chain of sit down restaurants, they serve food but most people know them for their ice cream.
