    Tbf, it sort of makes sense, because web technology is easily transferable to another platform. Its one of the reasons i considered MAUI.

    Also, lets face facts: browsers consume so much memory right now that axing UI frameworks and libraries made in a lower level language might win some of it back - especially when you see how much memory the windows desktop stacks eats.

    I could even see user services run as WebWorkers, just to sandbox those services and tie it all together.

    Although Office 365 is kind of trash in the browser, that too can change if the whole desktop goes web.

    But in the end: Microsoft Chrome OS. No thanks. Now a libre desktop based on browser technology? Servo, even. That would be weird and wonderful.

      This is like being in a home with a termite infestation and deciding to replace the entire structural backbone of the building with the termites instead of just calling an exterminator.
