Ah it was with the recent Halsey album review “controversy”. He did refer to himself as such, but it was justified.

You can’t really debate that. There’s no music critic bigger than me who’s had more impact than me for as long as I have, consistently. And if I die tomorrow, nobody’s going to outdo that run.”
I don’t remember him declaring that out of nowhere so much as acknowledging it when articles or other people refer to him as that.

Knowing absolutely nothing about him before today, he does sound like a massive dick, all things considered.
He is a dick sometimes, but again, he isn’t wrong here. As grating as it is haha
