Let there be no doubt, Trump is the symptom, not the problem. Vance is the President in Waiting (I predict he will be POTUS after the November elections), and he will be far worse then Trump ever could be. Trump is knee-jerk, Vance is cold and calculating.
But the good news is, based on the mud-slinging the Republican party is doing, they are really. really afraid they will lose the Senate AND the House in November, and they are trying to shore up support in America for their failed policies. They really, really need this trade deal, and Carney knows it. Unless they get a trade deal before November, the American political scene will look very, very different.
I, for one, can’t wait to see a President Vance. MAGA is a cult of personality. The reason why Trump chose him as VP is because he has zero personality. Without Trump’s sociopathic charisma, the whole movement will eat itself.
Vance literally wrote the book on the ‘movement’. Trump is nothing but smoke and mirrors, a distraction to obfuscate the true agenda of Vance.
Assuming that he actually wrote it (rather than putting his name to a ghostwritten manuscript), all that would mean is that he’s smarter than Trump. Thing is, intelligence doesn’t win elections—in fact, it often seems like the last thing Americans want is to elect anyone with two brain cells to rub together. Whether Vance can win over MAGAts without Trump acting as a smokescreen remains to be seen. I’m not saying it’s impossible, just that we lack sufficient evidence as yet.
You still do not get it - getting elected has nothing to do with it. Vance automatically becomes POTUS as soon as Trump is deposed, no election needed. Not only is Vance’s name all over it, he also defended it. Make no mistake, it is his handiwork and he intends to see it through.
