Typically, these are scam test charges. They want to make sure the card works and you reaction time to a charge you didn’t make. They’re usually something like a donation to the Red Cross, but all the info is spoofed. People usually see a donation and think “awww… Can’t reverse that…oh well.” Then you get hit with more odd, but plausibly named charges. Then a couple big ones for thousands late one night.
Yeah no matter what if you see an errant charge call the card issuer and they’ll ship a new one out. There is zero reason to walk around with a leaked card number, let alone one where someone can actively use it.
