I always ask people how it’s confusing, and what will they be confused about.
Almost nobody around me wants to admit the real reason, it’s always floundering and waffling about various things as they grasp at straws to say anything but “I am homophobic and narrow minded and don’t want a gay child”
It’s obvious if anyone who isn’t a homophobe thinks about it for half a second. Queer people have existed, literally, forever throughout humanity. We have evidence of it basically throughout all of our history (that we know of).
Which means, I have grown up around queer people, my parents have grown up around queer people, and so on, forever. And YET, none of us are “confused”.
But for some reason THESE kids will be confused. THESE kids’ developing sexuality is so fragile that the concept of a gay couple existing will immediately convince them that they MUST be gay, and in no way shape or form would they have felt that way otherwise.
