    Can we maybe just fuck off with the slopcode in the first place, and people who insist can do without “protection” on “their” “very meaningful” “work”.

    It should already not be permitted in any free software

      I’d argue the opposite: because AI was certainly trained on massive amounts of copyleft code, all AI- generated code should be copyleft only, and under the most strict terms, just to be safe.

        Sure? I think software eng is already supersaturated with ways of doing it wrong, so while we’re being completely idealistic the whole thing might as well not exist.

    Software produced by agentic workflows almost inevitably reproduces copyrighted works for common functions like database access without the person using the LLM knowing. This makes the software produced as such non-FOSS and a ticking time bomb due to someone using code scanning tools for malicious litigation purposes similar to how patent trolls operate.
