U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an order directing the interior secretary to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America” as Canada trade war persists.
Trump cannot force Canada to follow his preferred naming convention, however.
The move is reminiscent of his move last year to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America.”
This is like trying to make “fetch” happen. No one is going to call it that.
I haven’t met a single person who is even willing to acknowledge the name change of the SkyDome. There’s no way anyone pays any sort of attention to him trying to rename a lake.

It’s technically the Rogers Center now.
