I get the move but can’t they just, idk, ignore the forks? Like who cares?
If the situation is anything like the video game emulators, buggy forks get a lot of unwarranted attention and an influx of unrelated bug reports. Kind of hard to ignore people screaming at you to fix things that you are not responsible for and clogging up your issue tracker.
I guess I couldn’t imagine getting a fork, and then going to the original maintainers and complaining lmao
Sad its proprietary again (source available is not open source). This is the wrong direction to head on, as it does not allow for derivatives.
