A vanishingly small portion of the paying audience would have been aware of the kerfuffle.

People just didn’t want to pay theater prices.

I had only heard of it being released early.

I have been to five movies in the theater in the last six years. Superman, two Marvel movies, two Dune movies.

It takes a lot to get me to both leave my house and pay extra money.

Also Dune (or was it Dune 2) hit the interwebs almost immediately but still did well box office-wise.

The Batman came out in this timeframe, I cant see someone who is this picky but also only going for tentpoles and established CBMs not seeing that.

I don’t want to pay that kind of money to go to a large living room with sticky furniture and a dozen phones blazing in the darkness like oncoming BMW headlights.

The wife got a big new TV with a bonus last year, and we have Crave. I’m content.
