I understand tolerating it, but buying into this "you’re going to be left behind* narrative is just ridiculous. AI is NOT there yet. And it has so many objectionable downsides with the way it works right now.
it’s the narrative the cult couches their statements in. “no no, I’m not for AI, it’s just the inevitable future and if you don’t start using it now you’re gonna be a slave so of course I’m using it now!”
As someone who is actually anti-AI, I have yet to find a single task I would need to use AI for, and have been able to strip it out of most of my daily life. With how easy it’s been, I can’t trust these “afraid of AI but using it” types at all.

Many of my colleagues in academia uses LLMs daily. Honestly, I haven’t found a task that I couldn’t do without it.
They drank the kool-aid, I guess.
